J.J Chamberlain throwbacks to 90’s rock with his emotionally charged new single “Eyeballs”

Many of us here agree that life felt different in past times. Some describe a greater connection with the environment, while others even suggest that the colors and sounds around us felt much more vivid during that golden era of the 90s. And that is exactly how “Eyeballs,” the new and latest release from J.J. Chamberlain, feels. Chamberlain, a gifted composer and multi-instrumentalist who has left a significant mark on the York music scene with his guitar and endless talent arrives today at Bad Wolf Records to give us a true gift for those nostalgic fans who feel a deep connection with the classic sounds of alternative indie rock, presenting us with a captivating piece that reveals itself as a colorful and emotional auditory experience.

Conceived from the deepest inspiration and emotions of this talented artist, who moves freely and effortlessly not only through his singing abilities but also as an experienced guitarist and bassist, “Eyeballs” tells a story that delves into his own experiences, capturing a tale of pain and loss with incredible skill and assertiveness, allowing listeners to feel as though they are in his own shoes from beginning to end.

Through his stunning harmonies where each instrument seems to shine on its own while fitting perfectly within a mix that feels truly vivid, J.J. creates an atmosphere of calm and reflection that fosters a 'moment suspended in time,' not only offering an intense and evocative narrative but also functioning as a true time capsule, bringing back that melodic vibe where rock didn't just mean distorted guitars and frenetic rhythms. Instead, J.J. strives to return to that musical essence where soundscapes prevail, once again redefining the concept of 'indie rock' as a unique and authentic expression of each artist, and not necessarily closely related to the garage sound often associated with it in the contemporary music scene.

It is important to highlight this particular aspect, as the entire recording and production process was carried out by J.J. Chamberlain himself in his home studio in York. This is where the concept of D.I.Y. takes on great significance, as he is not only responsible for creating a truly captivating lyrical work but also for shaping the song's melodic structure by playing the electric guitars with impeccable precision, the brilliant and celestial sound of his acoustic guitar, and the impactful bass lines that add weight and definition to his musical vision. However, J.J. is not alone this time, as he collaborates with the talented drummer and percussionist Takashi Takemura, whom he met thanks to a collaboration they have unexpectedly been working on despite the distance, as Takemura has his residence in Atlanta, US, proving that music not only transcends eras but also borders.

“Eyeballs,” officially released on April 19, 2024, stands as his second official release following “Tired of Christmas.” Both tracks add to a valuable and growing discography that marks not only the beginning of a successful musical career but also the birth of a new and talented artist who will surely leave an indelible mark on the hearts of listeners.
