2. Questions Related to the Recording Process

2.1 How much does a studio recording cost?

The price of a studio recording varies, meaning it differs for each project based on its requirements. At Bad Wolf Records, you can request recordings for anything from just one vocal or instrumental track to a full production. To get a detailed price for your specific project, we invite you to fill out the dedicated form so our team can contact you and offer you a detailed quote. Note: This form requires you to include a homemade recording or demo of your project for later evaluation.

2.2 What types of recordings can be made at Bad Wolf Records?
At Bad Wolf Records, we offer everything from vocal and instrument recordings to full productions. These are available in two formats: "Recording Day" and "Track by Track". You can find the full list at the following link.

2.3 What is needed to record a song?
To record a song, you need at least a clear idea of the song you want to record (lyrics, instrumental, and structure). At Bad Wolf Records, we also offer musical arrangement services to improve your song before or during the recording. However, this does not include music composition services. If you do not have all the musicians you need for your project, we invite you to review the following link where you will find services for instrumentation and musical performance.

2.4 How does the studio recording process work?
In any recording service booked at Bad Wolf Records and under both formats, the studio recording process consists of three phases. The first phase is an initial meeting (in-person or remote) to determine the project's objectives and expected results. The second phase is a provisional phonographic recording used as a demo to better define the proposal and identify potential areas for improvement. If you already have a demo, this phase can be skipped. Finally, phase three consists of the recording of the final versions, where the final takes of instruments, vocals, and others are made, and you will receive them in *WAV format as well as each track separately, with each file labeled and organized in a folder called "STEMS." For more details on the recording process, we invite you to visit the following link.

2.5 How long does a studio recording session last?
Studio recording sessions have a maximum duration of 3 consecutive hours, so it is likely that you will need to attend the studio on at least two occasions. Regardless of this, the number of visits to the studio does not affect the price of your recording. Remember, at Bad Wolf Records, we do not charge by the hour!

2.6 How long will it take to have my song ready?
Studio recordings are delivered instantly after each session, whether it is the initial demo recording or the final version. If you additionally request mixing and mastering services or a full production, the delivery time for the final version may vary from 7 to 30 days depending on the complexity and requirements of the project.

2.7 Does the recording service include editing, mixing, and mastering?
No, the audio recording service only covers the phonographic recording of vocals, instruments, and others. These services must be requested separately.

2.8 Can I distribute my song commercially?
Yes, any material recorded at the studio can be distributed commercially, as long as it is 100% original. It is recommended to have documents proving the ownership of the composition rights. If the recording includes an instrumental base from an external music producer or beatmaker, you must ensure you have the corresponding commercial use license. In all cases, Bad Wolf Records is not responsible for the distribution of the recordings made at the studio. The responsibility falls solely on the person requesting the service. Therefore, the use of the Bad Wolf Records name is strictly prohibited in any form that implies its association with the distribution of the material unless you are explicitly granted consent, have an active membership, or are part of our artist roster.

2.9 What are the operating hours?
Our operating hours are divided into two blocks: from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. (UTC-3) However, studio visits are only allowed once your project has been approved by our team after filling out the form and only with a prior appointment, made at least 48 hours in advance and based on availability.

2.10 In what format will I receive my studio recording and by which method?
The format for studio recordings includes two audio files that will be delivered via email:

  • A high-quality audio file (*.Wav) at 44.1 kHz / 32 Bit PCM.

  • A lightweight audio file (*.mp3) at 320 Kbps / 16 Bit depth.

If you have requested the recording of multiple instruments or tracks, you will also receive the files separately.
